Adult Intensive Outpatient/Partial Hospitalization Treatment

The primary goal of Intensive Outpatient treatment, sometimes called Partial Hospitalization,  is to provide structured intensive outpatient treatment for the substance abusing or substance dependent client for whom a less intensive level of care has either failed or is not considered to be sufficient to meet present clinical needs. Intensive Outpatient treatment utilizes a variety of assessment, education, and therapeutic treatment modalities.  Treatment modalities include individual, group and conjoint family sessions.  Treatment is provided in a structured, time limited format. There are no daily minimums for hours of service, however, clients in this level of care average between 10- 20 hours of treatment per week.

All clients admitted must be at least 18 years of age.   (Click here Adolescent IOP for information about Intensive Outpatient services for adolescents ) The client must have a substance use disorder.  The client must exhibit a willingness and ability to engage in treatment, work toward abstinence, and submit to testing to verify abstinence.
