Adolescent Outpatient Services

When an adolescent client is assessed as meeting the criteria for alcohol or drug abuse diagnosis, Triangle Center can provide Outpatient services. Outpatient treatment utilizes a variety of treatment modalities including assessment, education, and therapeutic treatment.  Treatment modalities include individual, group and conjoint family sessions.  Most services are provided in fewer than 9 hours per week.

Client's must be 12 years of age or older in order to consent to treatment.  Clients that are 12-17 years of age shall be continuously encouraged to obtain their guardian's consent to receive treatment.  Clients younger than 12 years of age will be treated with written permission from the Department of Human Services Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse.  Individuals who are 16 and 17 may be admitted as adults and individuals who are 18, 19, and 20 may be admitted as adolescents provided that the assessment of such individuals includes justification based on the person’s behavior and life experience.  (Click here Adult Outpatient Services for information about Outpatient services for adults) The client must have a substance use disorder.  The client must exhibit a willingness and ability to engage in treatment, work toward abstinence, and submit to testing to verify abstinence.
