COUNSELOR – Full Time

(Criminal Justice Program)

 

SUMMARY:     Provides intakes, assessments, treatment planning, case coordination, staffing, aftercare planning and discharge with individual and group therapy to halfway house inmates. Must be knowledgeable of organization’s policies and procedures, Bureau of Prisons Statement of Work, and all applicable licensing rules and regulations.  Frequent travel using own vehicle required. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a related discipline from an accredited institution required.  Master’s degree preferred.  Counseling experience preferred.   

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor preferred and must be obtained within two years after hire.  A valid Illinois driver’s license and insurance.  Must provide copies of driver’s license and proof of insurance to Human Resources.

 

HEALTHCARE SPECIALIST

Full-Time & Part-Time 3rd Shift

 

 

SUMMARY:  Works cooperatively with members of the nursing and medical staff to monitor client vital signs, observe urine drops, monitor clients, and chart all pertinent data. Performs intake assessments, treatment planning, aftercare planning, discharge planning, participates in case staffing for clients. 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  Associate degree in Psychology, Social Work or a closely related curriculum, from an accredited institution preferred. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  CPR and First Aid Certification.  IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor or IAODAPCA Certified Assessment and Referral Specialist preferred.

 

 

PREVENTION SPECIALIST COORDINATOR

 

SUMMARY: Plans and implements prevention functions. Frequent travel using own vehicle required. Works with community organizations to develop prevention oriented social planning. Implements prevention programming for Sangamon and Menard counties in conjunction with other prevention resources (InTouch, PFI, Drug Free School programs, etc.). Facilitates didactic groups in support of multi-disciplinary treatment programming. Ability to deal effectively with a variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise. Reports activities to funding sources as necessary.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct supervision of prevention staff.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline from an accredited institution preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Preventions (CADP) preferred. Valid Illinois driver’s license and insurance. Must provide copies of driver’s license and proof of insurance to Human Resources.
